Feetures! expands Commitment to Youth Running Programs
Let Me Run
Feetures! now proudly sponsors the Charlotte-based nonprofit organization, Let Me Run, which has a footprint across 23 states. Let Me Run is a seven-week running program for pre-teen and teenage boys, led by trained coaches from the community. Each team meets twice a week for an hour and fifteen minutes, and the boys exercise and participate in fun activities, which help them learn how to express themselves, reach personal goals, and improve their overall wellness. At the end of the program, the boys celebrate their hard work with a 5k road race.
Let Me Run coaches guide the boys through lessons about wellness and well being, like respect, positive competition, and nutrition. Let Me Run's lesson plans, including “Real Men Show their Feelings, Everyday Heroes, and Getting to Know You,” prepare boys for the long run by encouraging full expression of their individual feelings. Plus, the coaches instruct boys on proper running form and correct stretching techniques.
Kids Run The Nation
We believe being successful is more than being profitable, it’s about making the world a better place. Accordingly, we sought out a partnership that aligned with our mission of supporting runners in their pursuit of healthy, active lifestyles. To that end, Feetures! is proud to be a presenting sponsor of the Kids Run the Nation Program.
This successful program was developed by the Road Runners Club of America, the oldest running organization in the country. The program is a gender inclusive, multi-week, turnkey, youth running program designed to meet the physical activity goals outlined by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for children in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. Their goal is to help establish a locally managed youth running program in every grade school in America. We look forward to supporting the program and helping the youth of America achieve their personal best.
